• To develop High-Tech research facilities and contribute to the body to knowledge through scholarly work and publications, and disseminate the findings to the professionals, faculty and students.
• To protect, sustain, and enhance top form of sports persons in modern competitive sports and games, and traditional Indian Games

Mission

• To actively design programme for the promotion and development of fitness and health concept among the students, faculty and the community around so as to mould them into physically fit and emotionally matured citizens.
• To achieve quality in teaching, coaching and research to excel world-class educators in the field of physical education and sports sciences.
• To protect, sustain, and enhance top form of sports persons in modern competitive sports and games, and traditional Indian Games.

History& Constitution

History

• Sports board of the University of Kota constituted in the session 2004-05 for the planning & promotion of all around development of games sports physical education & physical culture among the youth & players of affiliated colleges of University of Kota.
• Chairman and secretary sports board nominated by the BOM/Hon’ble Vice chancellor of the University. All members of the board shall hold the office for three years as per constitution.

Constitution

The BOM /Vice-Chancellor shall constitute a sports board which shall consist of the following:

2. Two members of the BOM to be nominated by the BOM.
3. One Professor or Head of a University Teaching department to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor.
4. Commissioner of College Education, Jaipur.
5. Four Physical Instructors/Directors-Three from the affiliated colleges nominated by the BOM and one from the University Teaching wing nominated by the Vice-Chancellor.
6. Principal/Director of a college holding the University Girl’s Tournament.
7. Principal/Director of the college holding athletic meet (for boys).
8. Two Captains of the University Teams in various games nominated in rotations by the Chairman University Sports Board every year and
9. A Director of Physical Education of the University Teaching Departments or any of University Colleges to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor as Member Secretary.

Note : Outgoing Secretary of the Sports Board will attend the meetings of the Board for one year.

Work of Sports board

• To educate the university students about the importance of games sports and physical education in its widest sense.
• To create sports consciousness and awareness about the games and sports among students and players.
• To organize training , coaching camps & education in sports , games & physical education.
• To encourage sports man ship in general and to promote friendly relations amongst the students.
• To organize inter university & inter collegiate tournaments recognized games & sports of UOK.
• To provide necessary facilities for coaching of University teams.
• To nominate university observer, Chairman nominee , University coach, team managers & coaches for participation in inter university tournaments.
• To organize sports seminars on physical education & sports.
• To co-ordinate the activities of the sports & games of the affiliated colleges & University Faculties.
• To advice the university administration on all matters concerning physical education , sports & games including financial and other assistance to sports organization.
• No. of events conducted by university sports board every year as       inter-collegiate tournaments.
• Employment of sportsmen under various departments such as A.G. office, Custom department, Railways, Defence personnel , Rajasthan Police, Electricity Board, Post & Telegraph

Mechanism of sports board 

1. University sports board meeting usually held twice a year.
2. University sports board allotted the Inter collegiate tournament as per demand of the affiliated college & decision taken in the meeting of sports board.
3. University sports board depute the following officers/selectors for selection of players to represent the university of Kota in all India inter university , west zone & inter-zonal tournaments –
   1. Principal of organizing inter collegiate tournament- President
   2. Sports officer of organizing college – Organizing secretary
   3. University observer – Deputed by the university
   4. Chairman nominee- Deputed by the university
   5. University coach - Deputed by the university
   6. Co-opted member – Nominated among the managers of participating colleges

NOTE-

• The selection committee recommends the students/players to provisionally select for coaching camp before the inter university participation.
• In the coaching camp university sports board ensuring the team have up to the standards of A.I.U norms or not.
• Qualifying standards norms of University of Kota, Kota for sending teams participation in various All India Inter University games and sports, as per A.I.U. (Partial)
