The integral of state-of-the-art facilities and expert faculty members, is named as DST- FIST funded-Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry. This University department was established in 2007 and currently running two Post Graduate courses in Chemistry (with specialization in Organic and Analytical Chemistry) and Industrial Chemistry. Department also offers a degree course in M. Phil. Chemistry and PhD program through University entrance test (as per the UGC guidelines). Our department provides outstanding resources for research and career development. Our graduates find success in industry as well as higher education and reputed research institutes. The syllabus of all courses running in department, are updated time to time in the light of the latest scientific developments. Department has implemented the evidence-based teaching strategy and offer hand-on laboratory concurrent that empowered by industrial training, industrial/ research labs visit, project work, seminar, etc.

That inculcates the deep knowledge of the chemistry and related fields to develop the scientific temperament and problem solving attitude among the scholars. Our outstanding graduates and world class research are our identity Department that enriched by several sophisticated instrumentation (costing around 3 cores) that includes, AAS, Potentistate, spectrofluorimeter, GC, FT-IR Spectrophometer, Flame Photometer, Microwave synthesizer, Vapour phase Micro-reactor, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer (with DRS and without DRS), Vacuum-evaporators, Tube, Muffle and Vacuum furnaces, Ball mill, and many more. Most of these instruments are funded by our faculty member’s research projects grant i.e. Fly Ash Mission of DST, CSIR, start up-UGC, SERB-DST, New Delhi, DST Rajasthan and Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India and SIDA, Sweden etc.

Students holding SRF, JRF (CSIR and UGC) and women research fellowships, are purchasing their Ph.D. degree from department. Many postgraduate students possess DST-Inspire fellowship and some (9) are following the culture of working on student research projects of DST, Rajasthan State. Department has long tradition of excellence that exhibited in the form of prestigious awards such as an Prof. ASR Anjaneyulu 60th Birthday Commemoration award Grignard award to Prof. Ashu Rani, Grignard award for Chemical Sciences to Dr. Neelu Chouhan and her team and Prof. K. K. Banerjee Memorial award, etc. Department regularly publish (more than 150) their research in international and national journals of good repute and high impact factor. Faculty published books and book chapters (more than 50) with Wiley-VCH, Weinheim, Springer, Taylor and Francis, New York, Trans-Tech Publications, Switzerland, Himanshu publication, Udiapur, Vayu Education, New Delhi, etc.

Furthermore, one international and one national patents are granted to Dr. Dr. Neelu Chouhan and Prof. Ashu Rani, respectively and several new Indian Patents are filed by her. Efforts are going on to undertake technology transfer to industries. Department organised one National Symposium on Recent Advances in Chemical Sciences in Jan, 2011 under sponsorship of DST, New Delhi and State DST, Jaipur, that evident by 300 scientists, academicians and students have actively participated. Department also organized five national academic workshops and hosted one state level DST-FIST interface meeting. DPAC alumni placed at renowned Govt. Semi Gov. and private research organizations and industries (BARC, NCL, IOCL, Thermal, NTPC, DCSL, Shri Ram Rayon, Shree cement, IISER, NCB, Vedanta group of Industries, Rudrapur, Mayur Uniquoter TTK, Ltd. Jaitpura, Jaipur, Shiv shakti , Rawatbhata, J K White, Hindustan Zinc, Railways, AYUSH, Education, etc.).
